Daily Fantasy Roundup – August 14, 2015

News flies fast and furious around the NFL, especially this time of year. Sifting through all the noise to find what really matters while you build your lineups for preseason or look ahead to Week 1 can be a daunting task. We’ve got you covered. A perfect complement to our extensive coverage on Footballguys, Cracking DraftKings is the definitive blog covering the daily football scene at DraftKings. The Daily Fantasy Roundup will be your one stop shop for all the news you need to know. Knowledge is power. We’ll do the heavy lifting.

Ready to jump into the world of daily fantasy but not sure where to begin? Footballguy Justin Bonnema has you covered with the definitive guide to getting started.

Alshon Jeffery sat out Thursday’s preseason opener versus the Miami Dolphins with a strained calf muscle. John Fox confirmed he is in a walking boot but downplayed the severity of the injury. Our own Dr. Jene Bramel isn’t so sure.

Danny Woodhead saw his first action last night since breaking his ankle last September and found the end zone while putting on an impressive performance. Only Week 1 of the preseason, but Woodhead looks awfully tempting at a price of $3,700 for Week 1 of the regular season.

Zach Ertz is out for the remainder of the preseason after undergoing surgery to repair a core muscle injury.  Ertz looks like he’ll be ready for Week 1, but keep Brent Celek on your radar at a price of $2,500.

Ameer Abdullah has received rave reviews throughout the preseason and put his skills on full display last night. A star is born? Not quite yet, but we can expect to hear a lot more from Abdulah this coming season.

Those playing preseason action on DraftKings this evening should know that Brock Osweiler is expected to see the majority of work at QB versus the Seahawks. Makes for an interesting target, even in the preseason many will shy away due to the opponent.

Niles Paul is out for 2015 after suffering a dislocated ankle in last night’s game against the Browns. But is it a reason to kill preseason games altogether?

Markus Wheaton can continue to state his case for the No.2 WR job in Pittsburgh during tonight’s tilt against the Jaguars.

Too early to be worried about Jimmy Garroppolo’s chances of being effective while filling in for Tom Brady?

That’ll do it for today’s roundup, be sure to keep checking Cracking DraftKings for more of the news you need to use and great insight and analysis from the team here at Footballguys.
