DraftKings - New Location Settings for Chrome

DraftKings - New Location Settings for Chrome

I recently had an issue getting on the DraftKings website, but I figured it out and wanted to share with you how to fix it if you have the same problem.  No, I am not in a banned DFS state, so it was not that kind of problem.  DraftKings recently updated their location checking abilities in order to better comply with state regulations (and to keep players from non-DFS states from playing), but the new security presented a problem for me because my Chrome browser was not set up properly to tell the site where I was.  So, if you have the same problem, here is a quick tutorial on how to fix your browser.

Step 1 - Click on the Chroms Settings button (Top right of the browser, looks like three bars in a box):

Step 2 - Scroll down to "Settings".

Step 3 - Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings pop-up box and click "Show Advanced Settings".

Step 4 - Click on "Content Settings".

Step 5 - Scroll down to "Location".  You will have to either use the first choice ("Allow all sites to track your physical location") or the second one ("Ask when a site tries to track your physical location (recommended)").  I recommend the second one, as does Chrome, but if the third choice is selected, DraftKings' site will prevent you from joining a league.

This might be frustrating at first, but understand that DraftKings is trying to do the right thing here with U.S. state laws, and for now that is what the site must to do comply with those laws.  After finding this fix, I was able to join DFS contests just fine, so I hope you find this useful.
