Week 13 Punt Plays
Every week John Lee, Cecil Lammey and I (Jeff Pasquino) discuss our punt plays for DraftKings on The Audible to close out our weekly DFS DraftKings podcast. These are players that we are looking at to fill in a last spot on our lineups that are relatively cheap. We have all been there - we have only a few bucks left and 1-2 spots to go in our roster, and we need a good value play to fill in that gap. The rules we play by are that the player must not cost more than $3,500.
Just like always, I can only use one on the show - and I am not going to steal the thunder from our three picks that make the airwaves - but I will share a few guys that did not make it for the final cut. This week was pretty thin, and my fellow show members took most of the best options, leaving me with a Titan as my pick (tune in to find out which one). Even though the barrel seemed empty, there are still a few others to consider for a punt play this week, so give them a read and tell me what you think, either in the comments or on twitter (@JeffPasquino). Hat tip to John Lee for the final three on the list. Here goes:
Darren Sproles, RB, Eagles ($3,400) - New England is a big favorite at home against Philadelphia, but if the Eagles are to have any measure of success, they will need to use their speed to turn the corner. That's a recipe for Darren Sproles, who also gets the bonus value of returning kicks. Honorable mention to WR Josh Huff ($3,200).
Marqise Lee, WR, Jaguars ($3,000) - Jacksonville cannot run the ball this year, so expect the Jaguars to pass as usual. The problem is Allen Hurns is unlikely to play, and that will give Marqise Lee a spot start opportunity. As a starter he should be the third target after Allen Robinson and TE Julius Thomas, but a few catches and 40-50 yards makes cash value very easy. If he finds the end zone, he will present fantastic value.
Dontrelle Inman, WR, Chargers ($3,200) - San Diego cannot run either, but Philip Rivers can throw. Inman scored last week and he is starting for the Chargers. Total "I hope he scores" against a tough defense. The good news if he does? Not only is he very likely to hit GPP value, but no one else will own him.
James White, RB, Patriots ($3,300) - James White received the second-most snaps out of the New England backfield last week, and he could see more catches on Sunday (H/T to John Lee).
Keshawn Martin, WR, Patriots ($3,000) - John calls him a total punt play (Seems a bit redundant to me, but OK), but Martin will run as the WR2 for New England and Bill Belichich is always making us guess. With Martin getting 61 snaps, who knows this week.
Brian Hartline, WR, Browns ($3,400) - Simple math here, as Hartline has seen 34 targets the past three weeks.
Thanks for reading as always, and be sure to check out The DraftKings' Audible episode every week, and subscribe to The Audible on iTunes. Good luck this week!
