DraftKings Adds Lineup Uploader

DraftKings Adds Lineup Uploader

So this week, DraftKings added a new feature to their lineup management capabilities.  If you go to your My Lineups section, you will now see a new button labeled "Upload Lineups".  See Figure 1 below:

Figure 1:  The Upload Lineups Button (Upper Right)

After you click that button, you get to choose the sport and the slate of games from this menu:

Figure 2:  Sport and Slate Selection

Finally, the spreadsheet template is downloaded.  Just open it up (See Figure 3) and fill out your lineups, then save it. Once you have it all filled out, the "Upload CSV" file button will be in play from Figure 2.

DraftKings Value Plays for Week 16

Looking to maximize value for your DraftKings lineup this weekend? The staff at Footballguys.com is willing to help! Check out the DraftKings Week 16 Value Plays for all the help that you need.

Here are a couple sample picks:

Will Grant - David Johnson is still a great play at RB for cash games, even though his salary continues to climb. He's taken over the primary RB duties in Arizona and they are playing strong with a shot at home field advantage in the playoffs. He's a great play at home this week against the Packers.

Chad Parsons - The Browns have allowed the fifth-most points to opposing wide receivers over the last three weeks. Jeremy Maclin is reasonably-priced outside the top-20 receivers and has nine or more targets each of the last four games.

Chris Feery - Randle has found the end zone for two consecutive weeks and will see a healthy bump in targets with the absence of Odell Beckham Jr. If he takes advantage of the opportunity in front of him, he could be one of the steals of the week with his low salary.

Justin Howe - This is still way too cheap. (Ryan) Fitzpatrick has been excellent at feeding his elite wideouts, especially in the red zone, and he projects to solid attempt and scoring totals in a mini-shootout with the Patriots

DraftKings Lineup Construction Week 14: Results

Last week on Saturday, I walked through a Cash Lineup Construction for DraftKings.com. I entered this lineup into an actual $1 Double-Up Cash game and was happy to see that it performed pretty well. Here are the results of that lineup

Last Minute Pivot

Here is the original lineup that I entered on Saturday:

But on Sunday morning. the Saints announced that Tim Hightower would receive the bulk of the carries and that C.J. Spiller would retain his 'change of pace' status. I wrote up a quick blog suggesting that people pivot from Spiller to Hightower since they were both just $3000.  That turned out to be a smart choice because Hightower had a significantly better statline:

Spiller - 3 Carries for 2 Yards, 3 Receptions for 7 Yards. 0 TDS.  3.9 Pts on DraftKings
Hightower - 28 Carries for 85 Yards, 1 Reception for 10 Yards. 1 TD. 16.5 Pts on DraftKings

With Hightower in the lineup for me, here is how it performed:

This lineup finished with 164.38 points. Target Points for Cash games is 150 points (3X value of the 50,000 salary). The cash line for this particular Double-Up was 143.3 pts.

This lineup clearly had some over achieving players, but here's a little more detail into why it was successful.

Players that reached 3X value:

Wilson - 6300. Target 18.9 pts. Total 32.28 pts
Hightower - 3000. Target 9 pts. Total 16.5 pts
Beckham Jr - 9100. Target 27.3 pts. Total 38.6 pts
Marshall - 7600. Target 22.8 pts. Total 27.5 pts
49ers - 2100. Target 6.3 pts Total 8 pts.

Clearly Wilson was the big boost here. His 5 Passing TD performance this week pushed him up to 5x value. Wilson would have made a great GPP play as well this week. The pivot to Hightower was a big boost. If I'd have left Spiller in the lineup, I still would have beaten the 143.3 pay line, but watching the Sunday morning news and switching to Hightower really gave me a boost. The 49er defense wasn't anything special, but their super low price of 2100 made them still a good cash play against the Browns this week. Marshall and Beckham Jr. both had over 100 receiving yards this week and both reached the end zone.

Players that did not reach 3x value

Brown - 8900. Target 26.7 pts. Total 15.7 pts
Maclin - 5500. Target 16.5 pts. Total 12.6 pts
Draughn - 4800. Target 14.4 pts. Total 7.1 pts
ASJ - 2700. Target 8.1 pts. Total 6.1 pts

Brown was the biggest let down of this lineup, but part of that was due to the big lead that Pittsburgh built in the game against he Bengals and after Andy Dalton went down, he Steelers never looked back. Ben Roethlisberger didn't have a passing TD in the game and the Steelers still put 33 points on the board. The Kansas City - San Diego game turned into a snooze fest, and although Maclin had nine targets for the day, he only turned in six receptions for 68 yards. Draughn wasn't a sexy pick by any stretch, but he should have been able to reach his target 3x based on volume. The 49ers struggled the entire game against Cleveland this weekend, and Draughn was barely able to grind out a couple points. ASJ nearly reached value, turning his second 3 reception for 31 yard day. The game script indicated that he should have performed much better against a weak New Orleans defense, but the Saints jumped out early and held Tampa in check all day. Mike Evans finished with a nearly identical stat line (3 receptions, 39 yards) so I don't feel bad about this at all. Again, at 2700, ASJ didn't need much to come through.

Overall a solid Cash lineup. I don't regret any of the picks that I made. Games don't always follow the game script, but hopefully it works out where the players super cheap like ASJ or the 49er defense, or that the player still has a high enough floor to not be a total but like Antonio Brown.

Check back this Saturday for this week's DraftKings cash lineup.

Sunday DraftKings Value Plays from Footballguys Staff

Looking for last minute value plays in your DraftKings lineups this weekend? The staff at Footballguys.com can help. Check out this week's consensus value plays from the Footballguys DraftKings staff.

Here are a couple snips from the piece.

Justin Howe - This is way too cheap for a target hog facing a poor pass defense. Blaine Gabbert isn't to be trusted yet, of course, but he's a predictable checkdown artist and (Anquan) Boldin (4000) his preferred dump-off target.

Chris Feery - Fitzpatrick remains near the bottom of the salary scale for signal callers while his output continues to trend up. He's thrown for six scores over the past two games and will face off with a Titans team that has been torched for eight passing touchdowns over its past two games. The dynamic duo of Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker should have little trouble against the Titans secondary, leading Fitzpatrick to have a solid chance at providing a return greater than 5x for the third consecutive week.

Will Grant - I like ASJ (Austin Sefarian-Jenkins) to easily reach value this week. The Saints have been giving up a ton of points to the TE position the last few weeks and ASJ is value priced to hit 3 or 4X.

Chad Parsons - (Eric) Decker has been remarkably consistent this season, hitting at least 3x value in 8-of-11 contests with 2.9x, 2.1x, and 1.9x performances among his misses. Tennessee is also a positive matchup for wide receivers to boot.

DraftKings Sunday Lineup Help

Working on your Sunday DraftKings lineups and need some help filling in the gaps? The staff at Footballguys.com has some great advice. Check out the DraftKing Wisdom of the Staff article for week 14. Here are a couple of questions that the FBG staff offer advice on answering:

QB - What quarterback priced $6800 or higher are you most interested in this week?

QB - Which lower priced quarterback would you be most interested in for tournament play? Johnny Manziel ($5000) vs. SF, Alex Smith ($5100) vs. SD, Blaine Gabbert ($5100) at CLE, Brian Hoyer ($5200) vs. NE or Ryan Tannehill ($5200) vs. NYG

RB - Which running other than David Johnson ($4300) vs MIN offers the most value this week?

RB - Which running back priced $4000 or less are you most interested in for tournament play?

WR - Which wide receiver would you most want to stack with his quarterback?

WR - Which lower priced wide receiver from $3200 to $4000 are you most interested in this week?

WR - What wide receiver priced below $7000 is the best overall value, guaranteed to get at least 3x value?

TE - Which tight end would you rather start in a GPP this week? Charles Clay ($3500) at PHI, Scott Chandler ($3800) at HOU or Richard Rodgers ($3900) vs. DAL

TE - What is the cheapest tight end you would consider for a cash game?

TD - What defense $2900 or less has the best chance to lead all defenses in points?

There is a ton of additional info in this article. Check out the Footballguys.com DraftKings Wisdom of the Staff for Week 14. Check out other great DraftKings content from Footballguys.com here.

DraftKings Cash Lineup Construction Week 14

I'm going to try something new. I'm going to walk through a cash lineup construction process this morning and then evaluate it next week once it's played out. Footballguys.com has a great DraftKings Interactive Lineup Tool that you can use to construct your lineup before entering it, and I'm going to use that to help me this morning.

DEFENSE

I usually like to start with a value defense to give me the most flexibility. This week there are a couple good options. San Francisco (2100) is on the road at Cleveland. The Over/Under on this game is only 41. Johnny Manziel will be under center this week, and the 49ers have held Jay Cutler (202 Passing yards, 0 TDS, 1 Int) and Carson Palmer (271 passing yards, 0 Passing TDs, 1 Rushing TD) in check the last two weeks. They make a good value option defense in my eyes.

TE

I'm all over Austin Seferian-Jenkins this week at TE on DraftKings. He's only 2700 this week and the Saints are really weak against opposing TEs. He only need 4 receptions for 50 yards to reach 3X value and I think he should be able to do that no problem.

RB

Next I look at RB. With Mark Ingram on IR, C.J. Spiller is in line to see a lot more action this week. How much is still in question, because he's going to split time with Tim Hightower, but at just 3000 on DraftKings this week, he's in the same boat as ASJ. 4 Receptions for 50 total yards and he's at 3x value. I think Spiller is a slam dunk this week.

For RB2, I'm stacking Shaun Draughn with the 49er defense. Draughn is an incredibly boring choice as a fantasy player, but he's getting a lot of opportunities. 4800 is not as dirt cheap as Spiller, but it's still pretty reasonable given that Draughn is facing a Cleveland defense that's in the middle of the pack against opposing RBS. But Draughn has had five or more receptions in the last three games, and he's reaching 70-90 yards from scrimmage as well. That's pretty close to 3x value, and if he reaches the end zone, he will be worth it. This is more of a 'high floor' pick that you like in cash games than a 'big upside' pick.

After my first four picks, my lineup looks like this:

With 37400 remaining, I have a lot of flexibility to fill in my remaining positions.

QB

There are a couple options at QB, but with all the value that I've landed, I'm looking to get points here. Cam Newton is a great pick, but at 7500, he might be too expensive if I want to load up at WR this week. So I will insert Russell Wilson at 6300 instead. The Ravens are looking at rolling out Jimmy Clausen at QB this week and Clausen had just 63 passing yards against the Seahawks when he was with the Bears back in week 3. Wilson has a solid floor and the Seahawks should really run over the Ravens in this game. Maybe I should have considered the Seahawks defense as well?

WR

On to WR. At this point I have a ton of leftover salary so the first two people that jump off the page for me are Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown. Beckham is on fire right now with more than 100 yards receiving in each of his last five games and six receiving TDs within that same span. He faces a weak Miami defense on Monday Night in a game that the Giants have to win. Brown has a tougher division matchup against the Bengals, but he has almost 600 receiving yards and 4 receiving TDS over the last four weeks. He's good for at least six receptions based on pure volume of targets and the Steelers look to him in the red zone. He also has the possibility of a return TD which can add another opportunity to score.

With 13100 left, the next guy that stands out to me is Brandon Marshall. He's had back to back 131 yard receiving games and had 3 TDS in the same span. He has at least 1 receiving TD in his last five games as well. This week the Jets face a Tennessee defense that is tough against the run but extremely vulnerable to the pass. The Jets will need to throw a ton in this game and Marshall will be a big beneficiary. At 7600, he makes a great 3rd WR.

FLEX

Sticking with WR for the flex position and with 5500 left, the name that jumps off the page is Jeremy Maclin. Maclin has been a target monster these last two weeks with 9 receptions in each game, and a combined 255 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDS. This week the Chiefs face the Chargers who have been vulnerable through the air at points this season. It's another case where a high-floor potential makes Maclin the perfect guy to insert in my offense for the final pick.

Since I have Beckham and Maclin in my lineup, I made sure to swap Beckham to the flex position. Since this is a cash lineup, I don't expect to make a late swap on Monday night, but if something comes up, it would be good to have the flexibility to insert anyone from that game into this position.

My final DraftKings cash lineup looks like this:

Now I don't expect that this lineup will be the top scoring lineup in the DraftKings Millionaire Maker GPP or anything, but I'm going to use this in my cash lineups this weeks to make sure my bankroll stays strong.

Good Luck this weekend!

DraftKings Value Plays From Footballguys.com for Week 12

Looking for some last minute DraftKings lineup help this week? The staff at Footballguys.com have come up with some great value plays this week to help you fill our your lineup. Check out the Footballguys.com DraftKing Value Plays for Week 12.

Here are some examples:

Chad Parsons - With Charcandrick West inactive against Buffalo, Ware sees the start after a promising showing late in Week 11. At $3,800 (Spencer) Ware is a quality combination of salary and high-floor usage.

Justin Howe - The Patriots' leader in target share over the last four weeks, (Brandon) LaFell's outlook brightens even further with Danny Amendola unlikely to play. Even a neutral or positive game script aligns LaFell for solid volume (8-10 targets) at worst.

Chris Feery - (Josh) McCown returns to the helm for the Browns and shapes up to be one of the top value plays of the week. The Ravens have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in seven of their ten games this season, look for McCown to make it eight of eleven

Will Grant - With Josh McCown back at QB and the Browns playing a damaged Raven team, look for (Gary) Barnidge to have a solid game on Monday night. He's a nice alternative to higher-priced TEs this weekend.

DraftKings Value Plays and Lineups Week 11

Looking for last minute DraftKings lineup help? Footballguys.com has just what you are looking for.

Footballguys staff has created their weekly DraftKings Value Plays and has plenty of lineup suggestions for you such as:

Ryan Hester - In the absence of Julian Edelman, Amendola will get more volume. He isn't likely to get Edelman's full role, but the part of predominant target on New England's offensive machine is one that should be priced higher than this

Chad Parsons - The Chiefs have been gouged by opposing receivers this season, allowing five 100-yard performances with seven more above 80 yards. Johnson is the best remaining Chargers option after Keenan Allen and Malcom Floyd's injuries.

Will Grant - Julian Edelman is done for the season, which means the other receivers are going to pick up the slack. Most people like Amendola, but I'm going the other way. I think Brandon LaFell benefits this most this week

Justin Howe - (Cam Newton) The rushing TDs are high, but not necessarily fluky - he's taken 7 rushes from inside the 10 over the last four weeks. And his passing matchup is juicy this week. His strong discount from Tom Brady makes him quite possibly the top cash play of the week.

If you are looking for sample lineups, Footballguys has those as well.

QBs like Newton and Carson Palmer

RBs like Darren McFadden and Jonathan Stewart

WRs Brandon Lafell and Stevie Johnson

And lots of other options

DraftKings Sunday Value Plays

Looking for value plays in your Sunday DraftKings lineups? The staff at footballguys.com have complied their list of sleeper picks for this weekend.

Check out Footballguys DraftKings Value Plays if you need a sleeper pick or two.

Here are a couple comments from the article:

Alessandro Miglio - This price is downright silly. Blake Bortles is a top-10 fantasy quarterback on the year, and the Baltimore defense has given up the second-most fantasy PPG to opposing quarterbacks. Talk about a chalk play...

Will Grant - McFadden is still a solid value play this week against Tampa Bay. He's basically the workhorse back in Dallas and he's running with purpose behind that massive offensive line. The passing game is still struggling for the Cowboys, so McFadden should have plenty of touches this week as well.

Justin Howe - Shorts is a fine minimum play, even as he (likely) shares time with Nate Washington. He's averaged nine targets per game when healthy, and the Texans will fall behind Cincinnati early.

Phil Alexander - Since Week 5, Murray is averaging 23.75 total touches per game, which is up from 13.33 over his first three games. Miami has let up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season, and are fresh off a game in which Karlos Williams and LeSean McCoy both went over a hundred yards and scored a touchdown against them.

DraftKings Value Plays from Footballguys.com

Are you crafting your DraftKings lineups this morning, looking or the players to give you the most value? Check out Footballguys.com DraftKings Value Plays for some last minute ideas on how to round out your lineups.

Here's just a sample of some of the players that we are targeting:

Chad Parsons - Alshon Jeffery has seen 11, 11, and 15 targets in his three games this season. The Bears have an optimistic matchup against San Diego and Jeffery, outside of Martellus Bennett, is the only weapon of note in Chicago's passing game.

Will Grant - With Keenan Allen on the sidelines, the big passing numbers that San Diego normally puts up will be spread to the other members of the receiving corps. Stevie Johnson is value-priced to be a nice play this week.

Jason Wood - Don't look now but Jay Cutler is a fantasy commodity again. Alshon Jeffery is back to an elite level and the Bears have little choice but to throw the ball aplenty, particularly with Matt Forte injured.

Phil Alexander - Vegas has installed the Jets as six point favorites over Jacksonville despite the very real possibility Bryce Petty starts this game. That should tell you how confident they are in the Jets defense dominating Blake Bortles and setting Ivory up with positive game script. This is a great spot for Chris Ivory, though I'd likely fade him if both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith are unable to play.

Check out the full article for more ideas how to round out your lineup.

Footballguys Roundtable on DraftKings Sunday Lineups

Looking for help in constructing your Sunday DraftKings lineups? The staff of Footballguys.com sat down this week to discuss different topics about who to start on Sunday and why.

Here's a sample of some of the questions that were discussed in our DraftKings Roundtable.

100-YARD RECEIVERS

As you know, DraftKings offers a three-point bonus for 100-yard rushing and receiving performances. Rank the following WRs in order of their likelihood to reach 100 receiving yards:
Phil Alexander: Here is how I would rank those five:
  1. Antonio Brown: Brown is tied with Hopkins for most 100 yard games this season. The Bengals defense can be exploited – especially by WR1s. However, if Ben Roethlisberger sits again, I'd drop Brown all the way to fifth on this list.
  2. DeAndre Hopkins: He is averaging 14% more targets per game than the next closest wide receiver. Titans cornerbacks are banged up and not very good to begin with.
  3. Julio Jones: Jones looks healthy again. Coming into last week, Football Outsiders ranked Tampa Bay dead last at defending opposing WR1s.
  4. Odell Beckham Jr: T.Y. Hilton showed last week how easy it can be to get behind the Saints defensive backs. His lingering hamstring injury is the only concern.
  5. Larry Fitzgerald: Fitzgerald should once again approach double digit targets, but Carson Palmer has been spreading around the production recently.
....
OK then, guys, which receiver(s) not listed do you think has the best chance to reach 100 yards?
VanderWoude: Mike Evans looks completely healthy and is starting to click with rookie Jameis Winston. The Falcons have had trouble containing number one receivers (Jordan Mathews 10/102, Odell Beckham Jr 7/146, DeAndre Hopkins 9/157), and Evans presents a severe mismatch with his wide catch radius and ability to out leap defenders on jump balls. He's reached 100 yards in two of his first four games.
...
Pasquino: Other wideouts I see with good chances of 100 or more yards are Steve Smith, Keenan Allen, A.J. Green, and Nate Washington.
...
Which tight end do you give the best chance to reach the century mark?
Alexander: At tight end, I like Greg Olsen to go over 100 yards for the third time this season. The Colts have allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends this season, and they've let up more receptions of 20+ yards than any team in the NFL.
....

STEELERS OFFENSE

It's looking like Ben Roethlisberger will return this week. How will the Pittsburgh offense respond? On one hand, their star quarterback returns. On the other hand, they have a divisional game against a difficult opponent in Cincinnati.
...
Dan Hindery: In regards to their middling statistics, the Bengals have been jumping out to big first-half leads pretty consistently. Thus, the overall defensive numbers are a bit misleading. The Bengals have given up quite a bit of “garbage time” yardage that does not reflect how strong the defense has been when it mattered. For example, the Bengals have only given up two first-half touchdowns the entire season.
...

MCFADDEN’S RESURGENCE

Darren McFadden looked like a fully healthy, younger version of himself on Sunday. Coach Jason Garrett has said that McFadden has earned more playing time.
With Joseph Randle potentially still nursing his injury and Christine Michael still not getting a real chance, would you take a chance on McFadden at his low price ($3,800) despite a tough matchup vs. Seattle?
...
Jeff Pasquino: Last week, I correctly predicted that the Cowboys would try and run the ball on the Giants (pats myself on the back) to protect Matt Cassel and also rely on their strength in their offensive line. Seattle is in the top 10 in yards per game against for their rushing defense, far better than the 21st-ranked Giants defense. Seattle is going to stack the box and force Cassel to beat them, and I doubt that he will. As Phil and Scott have accurately pointed out, McFadden is an okay cash game option, but his ceiling is too low against the Seahawks for tournament consideration.
....

GARBAGE TIME PRODUCTION

Week 7 was littered with garbage time production. Houston, Indianapolis, and San Diego were all teams who were losing and put up big stats against soft defenses. While most fantasy analysts will say that we shouldn't rely on garbage time, sometimes it can be predicted by looking at possible game scripts.
Which Week 8 game (or games) do you see as potential blowouts where the losing team can still produce valuable fantasy numbers?
Dan Hindery: Predicting the blowouts can be pretty tough. Indianapolis and San Diego were both healthy home favorites but surprisingly fell behind by 20+ points early in their games. Houston vs. Miami was not supposed to be a lopsided game either.
However, I do think we’ve seen in recent years where certain teams (and specific players) have regularly fallen behind and then been able to put up big numbers in comeback attempts. A few years back, Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford put up career seasons and some monster games when their porous defense put them in big holes early. Last year, Kelvin Benjamin was a regular beneficiary of garbage time touchdown catches.

Exposed Week 7

With the help of our defensive guru Aaron Rudnicki, we take a look at matchups between wide receivers and tight ends and how defenses will deploy to stop them. We look at some cheaper options that will allow you to load up your roster elsewhere, and some pricier ones that we think you should pay for. We also look at a few wide receivers and tight ends that we don't like this week.

Footballguys Roundtable on DraftKings Sunday Lineps

Looking for help in constructing your Sunday DraftKings lineups? The staff of Footballguys.com sat down this week to discuss different topics about who to start on Sunday and why.

Here's a sample of some of the questions that were discussed in our DraftKings Roundtable.

LeVeon Bell appears to have picked up right where he left off last season, registering 26.2 and 31.0 fantasy points in his two games this season. This week, he’ll cost you a whopping $700 more than the second-highest running back.
Is Bell worth it? If you’re paying up for him, where are you sacrificing elsewhere?
.....
Last week, the game script question was an enlightening one in that it showed just how difficult it can be to predict NFL games. Let’s see if this week’s round of staffers can nail a few games.
So please pick a game on the slate this week and tell us how you think it will play out. Which player(s) will benefit from this script? Which become values?
.....
Are Tom Brady ($7,800) and Aaron Rodgers ($7,900) actually somewhat contrarian plays this week? With Peyton Manning ($7,000) vs Oakland’s horrific secondary, Eli Manning ($6,800) vs San Francisco’s poor group, and Philip Rivers ($6,200) vs. Pittsburgh’s poor pass defense, do you foresee “the masses” not wanting to pay up at quarterback?
Even matchups like New Orleans-Philadelphia with Drew Brees ($7,200) and Sam Bradford ($6,000) and Chicago-Kansas City with Jay Cutler ($5,300) and Alex Smith ($5,500) provide attractive-for-the-price options.
......
Devonta Freeman’s salary has risen from $4,200 (Week 2) to $4,600 (Week 3) to $5,200 (Week 4) and is now sitting at $6,300 for this week.
Last week, Freeman torched a previously good rush defense at home. Is he still a solid cash game play for one more week despite another tough run matchup and the increased salary?
